With the increased levels of identity theft, it is more important than ever to protect your personal details, and therefore your mail. With a rise in the level of theft from mail boxes, we have found that criminals have been accessing mail boxes with a master key, which operates a large number of the L&F and Lock Focus locks.
Due to this, we have been installing the Carbine cam locks, which give better security than the standard low security lock that comes with the letterbox unit.
The L&F and Lock Focus cam lock range is the standard type lock installed on most banks of letterboxes. These locks come in an assortment of lengths to suit varied applications. They can also be master keyed and keyed alike. Some of these locks are supplied with a code number stamped on the front of the barrel.
The new Carbine cam lock (letterbox lock), comes with a key way that allows the lock to be keyed alike to a Lockwood style key. These locks offer better security and convenience of keying alike to house key.
The Carbine pin tumbler cam lock is the most secure type letterbox lock. with a full brass cylinder the same design as in a Lockwood deadlock cylinder. The Carbine cam lock can also be keyed in with Restricted key systems.
